This past week offered excellent fishing conditions, with clear skies, calm seas, and steady wave heights of 4 to 5 feet. Both water and air temperatures remained ideal, contributing to productive outings.

On Friday, November 7, Robert Majewski demonstrated the area’s strong potential for Wahoo aboard the “RIPPER,” under the guidance of Captain Abel and Mate Ninja at the Todos Santos Spot, landing specimens weighing 30 and 59 pounds. Tim Lorenzo also achieved success on the “TIBURON,” securing a 32-pound Wahoo at Punta Gorda.

The momentum continued over the weekend. Saturday, a group from Texas aboard the “LOS ARCOS” caught four Dorado between 15 and 20 pounds, adding to the variety of catches. In addition to a Wahoo, Captain Jaime’s crew on “LADY HOMA” recorded three Yellowfin Tuna, with weights reaching up to 90 pounds. The diverse range of species caught added an extra element of intrigue to the weekend’s fishing.

Sunday, the positive trend was sustained; Captain Francisco on “TRES TEJAS” led his group to three Dorado, while “BILL COLLECTOR II” delivered a notable result, landing a 135-pound Yellowfin Tuna for Andy Baker and companions.

Monday, the Edison group aboard the “TIBURON” caught nine Yellowfin Tuna, demonstrating the region’s diverse fishing prospects. Mr. Alexander Apostolopoulos, on the “ANDREA,” captured four Yellowfin Tuna, each weighing between 30 and 40 pounds.

On Tuesday, favorable conditions persisted, and Captain Pepe and Mate Jaramillo on the “REEL PRIMO” reported their group caught fourteen Yellowfin Tuna. Captain Orlando Murillo and Mate Jorge Velez operate the “KARINA,” a 30-foot Bertram, stated that their anglers, Jeff Frazier and Joseph Williams from Rogue, California, caught and released sixteen Dorado weighing up to 20 pounds.

By Wednesday, anglers experienced consistent action across multiple spots, including a few notable Striped Marlin hook-ups and solid numbers of Yellowfin Tuna. A New Hampshire pair on the “ADRIANA,” hooked seventeen Yellowfin Tuna weighing from 5 pounds to 105 pounds. Thursday saw a continuation of vigorous bite activity, as crews skillfully adapted to changing currents, landing a mix of Dorado, Tuna, and the occasional Wahoo, maintaining the high standard set earlier in the week.

These impressive results were complemented by reports of consistent action throughout the fleet, with anglers encountering strong bites and steady hook-ups across multiple locations.

The fish caught included: one 280 to 300-pound Blue Marlin; one Bonito; 23 Dorado; 12 Striped Marlin; 65 Yellowfin Tuna weighing as high as 90 to 135 pounds; and three Wahoo up to 59 pounds.

The diversity of catches highlighted not only the abundance of fish present but also the skill and adaptability of local captains and crews in capitalizing on the favorable conditions.

Overall, the week was marked by favorable weather, expert crews, and numerous significant catches, affirming the area’s reputation as a prime fishing destination. Anticipation is high for additional successful outings in the coming week.
