The Cape, a Thompson Hotel, brings to Los Cabos a new hotel concept

“Imagine a side of Los Cabos you never knew existed.”

The new addition to Los Cabos list of hotels, The Cape, the first resort from Thompson Hotels in Mexico, is making a big debut in Los Cabos this June 2015.  This resort will be a great addition to the luxury hotels list in this world-class destination, remarking it as the first premium destination in Mexico, and it will be inaugurated on June 19th in Cabo San Lucas.

The Cape will be administered by the international brand Commune Hotels & Resorts, and will be positioned as a five stars hotel, which promises a magical experience and great quality service.  Thanks to its unparalleled location in Playa Monumentos (Monuments Beach), the beachfront hotel will have amazing views of popular rock formation The Arch, the majestic symbol of Los Cabos, and a complete and gorgeous view to the entire bay.

The opening of this resort comes to make a great addition to the existing offer of hotels and resorts, adding 161 new rooms and making a total amount of 15,300 hotel rooms this year in Los Cabos.  “We are preparing the last details to receive national and international tourists who arrive to this premium destination,” said Eduardo Segura, General Manager of The Cape.

The whole complex was designed as a mid-century-inspired hideaway with modern aesthetic and a vibrant 1960s Mexico-meets-Southern California style by architect Javier Sanchez of JSa Arquitectura; while Marisabel Gomez Vazquez, director of Arquitectura de Interiores firm, was in charge of the interiors design giving it a warm touch to every room.  The resort has an urban styled design, being the first hotel in Los Cabos with setting like this, “When entering to any room, it’s like if you’re stepping into an apartment in Manhattan” said Eduardo Segura, making it the perfect match of a beach-front resort with an urban style atmosphere.

Highlights include custom furniture handmade in Mexico, found both in-room and throughout the public spaces; original, regionally produced art, curated in collaboration with celebrated ceramicist Jos? No? Suro; lush native landscaping and greenery that blur the line between indoor and outdoor; two pools located just steps from the beach, one built within a natural rock formation on property and the other an infinity pool with swim-up bar; private stairway access to Monuments Beach; an intimate, five treatment room spa and fitness centerfeaturing a private outdoor cabana for al fresco treatments with ocean views; and more.

Every new hotel comes with a new gastronomic experience, and The Cape has made the big announcement that renowned Chef Enrique Olvera will be overseeing the culinary experience at the new hotel, and will have his own restaurant named Manta, with a very unique menu full flavors and techniques of the Pacific Rim.  Enrique Olvera is a famous Mexican chef, with a serie of restaurants, like Pujol in Mexico City since 2000, and Cosme in New York City since 2014.
