This week’s Pisces Weekly Fishing Update highlights a wide variety and steady action on the water, with anglers enjoying both quality and consistency across multiple species. Favorable conditions have led to impressive catches of Billfish, Tuna, and Dorado, reflecting productive fishing grounds and skilled, knowledgeable crews. Whether targeting big game or enjoying lighter tackle action, guests have experienced rewarding trips, making for another memorable and successful week on the water.
On Friday, June 12, 2026, clear skies and choppy seas were reported, with wave heights of 4 to 5 feet and winds of approximately 16 miles per hour. The water temperature ranged from 80 to 82 degrees, and the air temperature was around 79 to 82 degrees Fahrenheit.
Captain Frank and Mate Brian reported an excellent outing aboard the 28-foot Uniflite “ADRIANA.” The trip resulted in clients from Salina, Utah, Brody Bulloch, Ethan Hone, Jaxon Mickelson, and Parker Jensen catching 16 Yellowfin Tuna (10 to 12 pounds) in the Palos Herradura area.
The 64-foot Viking, “LA CHINGONA 2,” operated by Captain Toño and the mates, reported a successful outing at the 1150 Spot. The individuals on this trip included Jose Antonio Bojorquez and Compradas: Ana Martinez, Brennan Potts, Daniel Bojorquez, Heath Sisk, and Jason Smith, who caught and released 24 Striped Marlin, ranging from 50 to 120 pounds, using caballito.
Conditions on Saturday, June 13, 2026, were clear and calm. Air temperature was mild, ranging from 76 to 79 degrees, while water temperatures dropped a few degrees to the mid-70s. Wave heights ranged from approximately 4 to 5 feet, with winds at 12 mph.
The 29-foot Black Fin, “El Cazador,” with Captain Carmelo at the helm and Mate Luis overseeing the cockpit, headed to the Herradura Spot, where Yellowfin Tuna were reported in good numbers. Their guests, Cheryl Lane and Timothy M. Lane, residents of Altamonte Springs, Florida, were targeting tuna. After taking one 20-pound Dorado, they caught 24 Yellowfin Tuna, each weighing 8 to 10 pounds.
The 31-foot Bertram “Ruthless,” captained by Jefe and Mate Velez, fished the 1150 Spot, yielding impressive results. On board were anglers Charles Burden, Jade Powell, Jennifer Kitzmiller, and Marc Powell, all from Austin, Texas. The highlight of the trip was the release of three Striped Marlin in the 100- to 120-pound range, complemented by two Silky Sharks weighing 70 to 80 pounds.
Sunday, June 14, 2026, found the air clear and the seas calm. Water temperatures ranged from 75 to 83 degrees, while air temperatures were warm, 73 to 79 degrees Fahrenheit. Although winds were present, wave heights only ran from 4 to 5 feet, contributing to the generally stable conditions.
The 40-foot Cabo Express, “LA CORONITA,” with Captain Manuel R. at the Helm and Mate Manuel Jr. overseeing the cockpit, led a productive outing. Carlos Rubalcaba, David Gregore, and Rick Rubalcaba, all residents of Las Vegas, Nevada, caught and released 16 Yellowfin Tuna, each weighing between 8 and 12 pounds. The fish were taken using palo and curry ten miles offshore from Cabo Real.
Results on the 31-foot Bertram, “RUTHLESS,” captained by Jefe with Mate Jorge V., reflected a mixed catch in the Herradura Area. The anglers, including Colt Rozacky, Jace Rozacky, Leleste Rozacky, Payton Rozacky, and Trent Rozacky, from Burnet, Texas, caught 13 Yellowfin Tuna in the 8 to 12-pound range using palo and curry, plus two 15 to 30-pound Dorado caught on caballito and curry.
Monday, June 15, 2026, brought clear skies and pleasant conditions, with calm seas making for a smooth day on the water. Wave heights ran from 4 to 5 feet with a light wind around 10 mph, keeping things steady without much chop. The water temperature ranged from 76 to 83 degrees, while the air was warm and inviting, 83 to 87 degrees, making it an ideal day to be on the ocean.
The fishing trip aboard the 28-foot “Minerva,” operated by Captain Victor and Mate Lalo, produced an excellent catch for the Stephens family, Jack, John, McCann, and Turner, of Georgetown, Texas. The group landed 20 Yellowfin Tuna weighing between 8 and 10 pounds on palos and lures below the Herradura. The trip also yielded a notable 47-pound Wahoo, caught on a lure about three miles off Cabeza de Ballena.
Under the direction of Captain Carmelo and Mate Luis aboard the 29-foot Black Fin “El Cazador,” anglers Eli Strauss and Jeff Strauss, traveling from Los Angeles, California, experienced a great day of fishing. The crew targeted the Palos Herradura zone, where the Strauss family brought 14 Yellowfin Tuna in the 5 to 8-pound range aboard. Efforts throughout the trip remained steady, contributing to a consistent catch rate.
On Tuesday, June 16, 2026, conditions were as follows: skies were clear, seas were calm, and the air temperature ranged from 83 to 88 degrees. Wave heights were between 4 and 5 feet, accompanied by winds at approximately 7 miles per hour.
During the outing led by Captain Gil and Mates Hector and Lalo aboard the “BBII,” a 37-foot Viking Billfish 2018, participants included Harper McCurdy, Heather McCurdy, Karter McCurdy, Lucas McCurdy, and Trey McCurdy, residents of Nixa, Missouri. They caught and released one Striped Marlin weighing about 100 to 110 pounds, along with a nice-sized 35-pound Dorado, and released a Blue Marlin weighing approximately 250 pounds, all using ballyhoo at the Iman Bank.
“HOT ROD,” a 42-foot Cabo Flybridge, under the direction of Captain Erick Orozco and Mates Jose, Ramiro, and Ramirez, headed to the 1150 Spot. Anglers included Anthony James Schulz, Camila Ingram, and Orlando Soto. (Mandy Schulz was present but did not fish.) During the trip, the anglers caught and released four Striped Marlin weighing between 80 and 110 pounds at the 1150 Spot, using ballyhoo. The group was from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
Clear skies and calm seas provided favorable conditions for the fishermen on Wednesday, June 17, 2026. Wave heights were approximately 4 to 5 feet, with breezy winds around 13 miles per hour. Water temperature remained around 76°F, while air temperature ranged from 81°F to 85°F, indicating warm, stable conditions throughout the day.
Aboard the 31‑foot Bertram, “TIBURON,“ Captain Beto and Mate Carlos Santos led an accomplished fishing trip that yielded an impressive variety of catches. Angler Pedro Treto Garza of Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, enjoyed the day’s highlights, which included the release of a Striped Marlin weighing approximately 80 pounds, a Sailfish of about 60 pounds, and a Dorado in the 20–25 pound range, all caught at the Herradura Spot using bait. Additional catches included a Jack Crevalle weighing around 8 pounds and three Yellowfin Tuna weighing 3 to 5 pounds, all caught using palos and plumas.
On the 42‑foot Bertram “YAHOO,“ run by Captain Ricardo Escamilla and Mate Marcos, an exceptional fishing excursion yielded notable catches at the 1150 Spot. Highlights included a substantial Yellowfin Tuna weighing 205.5 pounds, taken on a purple lure, and a Dorado estimated at 30 to 35 pounds, using a caballito.
On Thursday, June 18, 2026, conditions featured clear skies and calm seas, with wave heights ranging between 4 and 5 feet. Winds were measured at approximately 13 miles per hour.
The 40-foot Cabo Express “La Coronita,” operated by Captain Manuel Sr. and Mate Jr., reported an excellent outing. The anglers aboard were José Rodriguez, Matthew Barrazzotto, and Rafael Martinez, all of whom are residents of Cabo San Lucas. They released one Striped Marlin weighing approximately 80 pounds on a ballyhoo at the 1150 Spot, and one Blue Marlin estimated between 190 and 200 pounds, also on the same bait in the same area.
“Tres Amigos,” a 27-foot panga captained by Francisco, reported a productive day of fishing. The anglers, who are visiting from Houston, Texas, were Andrea Monrot, Bob Monrot, and Marilyn Monrot. They caught two Dorado weighing between 15 and 20 pounds, one Grouper, approximately 20 pounds, and one Hammerhead Shark weighing around 30 pounds, all taken in the El Cocinero and Barco Verrado Areas. Additionally, they landed two Jack Crevalle weighing between 15 and 20 pounds in the same area.
Overall, the week of June 12 through June 18, 2026, brought favorable weather and sea conditions, enabling steady, productive fishing across Cabo San Lucas waters. Clear skies, moderate winds, and manageable wave heights contributed to successful trips for a wide range of boats, from pangas to larger sportfishing yachts. Anglers experienced excellent action, with notable catches including Striped Marlin, Blue Marlin, Yellowfin Tuna, Dorado, Wahoo, and other species across key fishing grounds such as the 1150 Spot, Herradura, the Iman, the El Cocinero, and the Barco Verrado, as well as surrounding offshore areas.
