Pisces Fleet Weekly update from OCTOBER 3 – 9, 2025
Catch success rate 08.40% Billfish 31.08% Dorado 33.78%, Other 9.46%, Tuna 39.19%, Wahoo 6.75%. Many guests commented on the clear skies and calm waters, which made for comfortable cruising between fishing spots and contributed to the ongoing success of each trip. Overall, the fishing remained productive early in the week, with a variety of species landed by both seasoned anglers and first-time deep-sea fishermen – a mix of Dorado, Striped Marlin, and smaller Yellowfin Tuna. Crews noted that the fish were particularly active around floating debris, making for some exciting moments as bait and lures were quickly taken by fish.
The stretch of days that the port was closed highlighted a diverse lineup of both crews and anglers, eager to return to the water. And on Thursday, the weather cleared, and the port was opened again.
Thursday brought new highlights and memorable experiences, further cementing Cabo’s reputation as a premier sportfishing destination. Visitors expressed appreciation for the personalized guidance and expertise provided on board the Pisces boats, which enhanced their overall experience and added to the thrill of sportfishing in Cabo San Lucas.
Harrell Eason, Jameson Widner, Mitchell McKerlie, Myles Widner, Russell Widner, and William Lieurance had a remarkably successful day on the “BILL COLLECTOR II,” a 35-foot Cabo Flybridge with Captain Juan C Lopez and Mate JC Martinez. Their venture to the Herradura resulted in the catch and release of two Striped Marlin, weighing 100 and 120 pounds, using live bait. They also reeled in four Yellowfin Tuna, the largest weighing 75 pounds, using the Kite, bait, and feathers at the Herradura Spot, making it an unforgettable fishing trip.
Aldo Alejandro, Cavazos Arredon, Alexa Quintanilla, Diana GarcÃ, Karen Cavazos, Manuel LÃpez, Alain Cavazos, Arredondo Mariana Garza, Leal Rodolfo, Adrián MartÃ-nez from Guerra Monterrey, Mexico, eagerly boarded the “FRIDAY BANK,” a 66-foot Viking, where Captain Alex and Mates Saul and Roberto welcomed them. The group headed to the Migrino, where they caught eight Dorado in the 20-pound range on lures and feathers.
Jim and Ann Anderson from Reno, Nevada, have been Pisces clients, fishing with Captain Pepe and Mates Ulises, Hamo, and Dulce on the “CHASIN TAIL,” a 62-foot Viking, many times. Back for another day of fun, they headed to the Herradura, where they caught three Yellowfin Tuna weighing up to 90 pounds on live bait and the Kite.

“KARINA,” a 30-foot Bertram, with Captain Bruce M and Mate Jorge Velez, provided a diverse fishing experience. Their guests, Brandon Sellers and John Sellers, caught and released a 100-pound Striped Marlin on a caballito, eleven Dorado weighing up to 15 pounds on live bait, and a 40-pound Wahoo on curry, all at the Antenas Spot—the variety of catches made for an exciting and successful day.
P Santiago Martinez from Mexico made a wise choice in selecting the “LA BRISA,” a 31-foot Bertram, with Captain Ray Winkler and Mate Jesus Winkler. Their experience and knowledge are well-known, and Santiago’s day was filled with action as he caught ten Dorado up to 25 pounds (caught some/released some) on curry and Ballyhoo at the Pozo Cota, two Skipjack, up to 12 pounds on curry, all at the Pozo Cota, and one Mako Shark around 60 Pounds also on curry at the Margaritas. There was an instant camaraderie among the group, which made the fishing experience all the more enjoyable.

Aboard the “VALERIE,” a 35-foot Bertram, Captain Roberto Sandez expertly navigated the open waters with his skilled Mate Salvador Flores. The sun was brightly shining, creating perfect fishing conditions, heading toward the Herradura. During the trip, the fishing group, comprised of Calvin Bowler, Connor Bowler, John Bowler, and Rebecca Bowler, all from Woodruff, Arizona, reveled in the thrill of the hunt. They were rewarded with the catch/release of one 90-pound Striped Marlin on curry, one 20-pound Yellowfin Tuna on bait, and one 89-pound Swordfish on live bait–a day’s adventure filled with anticipation and excitement. As the day came to a close, they found themselves with a wealth of stories to tell, creating cherished memories that would be reminisced about for years to come.
P On board the “TRACY ANN,” a 31-foot Bertram, Captain Julio Castro and Mate Tracy Ann Raul Leal set out for an exciting fishing adventure with a group from Aledo, Texas, which included Cecilia Crass, Cynthia Trice, David Crass, and Edwin Trice. During the trip, they caught and released one 80-pound Striped Marlin and six Yellowfin Tuna weighing 20 to 25 pounds, 30 miles from the 180 Spot. Although the battle with the fish was likely more challenging than they had anticipated, their excitement kept their spirits high throughout the fight.

The port opened once again on Thursday after three days of port closure. The lively group, Guy Penna, John Daquila, Joseph Rinaldi, and Salvatore Safonte, from Staten Island, New York, chartered the “LA CHINGONA,” a 46-foot Viking run by Captain Ricardo and his Mates, who ran straight to the San Jaime Spot. Their teamwork paid off when they caught five Yellowfin Tuna weighing up to 90 pounds on lures. The New Yorkers celebrated the catch of each fish, making the most of this unforgettable outing and thrilling fishing experience.
While on the “RIPPER,” a 35-foot Cabo Flybridge, Chris Von Dohlen, Samuel Bernal, and Timothy Von Dohlen, from Austin, Texas, also enjoyed remarkable conditions throughout the day, and were thrilled to have Captain Abel and Mates Ninja and Niko 2 along to help them manage the catching of seven Yellowfin Tuna weighing up to 30 pounds on bait and feathers, and the catch and release of two 80-pound Sailfish on caballito and lure outside the 95 Spot.
Their teamwork and excitement grew with each successful catch, reinforcing the camaraderie that makes sportfishing in this region so memorable.
