Rafael Castro booked the “RIPPER,” a 35-foot Cabo Flybridge, with Captain Abel and Mates Niko and Jose Luis for his fishing trip on Friday. He had heard great things about the Captain and the mate and was eager to join them on a journey. When they headed to the Lighthouse, he was sure he would have a successful trip, and he did. And what made it equally enjoyable was the camaraderie as they exchanged friendly banter and received encouragement from the crew.

Jack Meck chose the “KARINA,” a 30-foot Bertram, with Captain Bruce and Mate Velez managing the boat. They decided to run to the Lighthouse, and when they were three miles out from the Lighthouse, Jack Meck, their angler, caught and released one 180-pound Blue Marlin on a guacamayo lure. Although the Blue put up quite a fight, they were able to get him in close enough for a release.
