PISCES FLEET WEEKLY UPDATE, July 10-16, 2026
The week of July 10–16, 2026, offered exceptional offshore fishing opportunities for the Pisces Fleet, with consistently favorable weather and calm seas creating an ideal environment for anglers and crews alike. Warm water temperatures, light to moderate winds, and manageable seas enabled boats to reach productive fishing grounds throughout the region. From impressive Yellowfin Tuna catches to multiple Blue and Striped Marlin releases, anglers enjoyed outstanding action at many of Cabo San Lucas’ renowned hotspots, making it another memorable week on the water.
Clear skies and calm seas on Friday, July 10, 2026, kept weather and marine conditions favorable. Wave heights remained around 4 feet, and winds ranged from light to moderate, 4 to 13 knots. Water temperatures ranged from 83 to 86°F, while air temperatures ranged from 77 to 82°F, contributing to stable, pleasant water conditions.
Captain Frank and Mate Bryan aboard the 28-foot Uniflite, “ADRIANA,” ran approximately 30 miles offshore to the 150 Spot on Friday. Fishing conditions were favorable for their client, angler Bryan Randall of Alta Loma, California, resulting in an excellent catch of ten Yellowfin Tuna weighing 8 to 35 pounds. The tuna were caught on bait and feather rigs.
The 35-foot Cabo Flybridge, “BILL COLLECTOR 2,” captained by Abel, and Mates Jose Luis and Juan, also had a productive offshore fishing excursion. Their group of passengers, including Austin Reykdal, Cameron Valadez, Courtney Valadez, Kylie Reykdal, Remedy Martin-Valadez, and Ryder Reykdal from Yucaipa, California, landed eight Yellowfin Tuna weighing between 20 and 90 pounds, using Kite and bait fishing techniques.
Weather conditions on Saturday, July 11, 2026, remained favorable, with clear skies and calm seas, and wave heights around 4 feet throughout the day. Water temperatures ranged from 83 to 86°F, and air temperatures ranged from 79 to 84°F. Overall, conditions were comfortable for marine and outdoor activities.
On the “REBECCA,” a 31-foot Bertram, Captain Jose Ramon Alucano and Mate Marcelo D. enjoyed an excellent day of offshore fishing in the Cerrito del Golden Area. Their clients from Fort Myers, Florida, including Karen Gavala, Michael Gavala III, and Michael Gavala IV, caught and released two Blue Marlin weighing between 200 and 250 pounds each, plus one 35 to 40-pound Wahoo—the outstanding catches made for a memorable and productive fishing adventure.
Rodriguez, Isabella Vering, Ivana Lopez, Janet Hernandez, and Vianey Manjarez, from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, chartered the “VALERIE,” a 35-foot Bertram, captained by Orlando M. and Salvador Flores, and enjoyed a productive day. The anglers caught and released one Striped Marlin weighing approximately 100 pounds at the La Brecha Spot. They also caught and released two Blue Marlin weighing between 200 and 220 pounds, both caught using lures and live bait. They also landed one Wahoo weighing 22 pounds.
Overall, excellent weather was predicted for Sunday, July 12, 2026, with clear skies and calm seas throughout the day. Wave heights averaged 4 feet, and water temperatures ranged from 83 to 86°F. Air temperatures remained between 78 and 86°F, creating warm, comfortable conditions. Winds ranged from 2 to 18 knots, contributing to stable, pleasant conditions.
Captain Carmelo and Mates Luis and Noe, aboard the “EL CAZADOR,” a 29-foot Black Fin, greeted anglers Alejandra Cebreros Guevara, Carmen Cebreros Guevara, Christian Armando Vazquez Ramirez, and Sinmara Morena Correa as they departed from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The anglers released one Striped Marlin weighing approximately 100 pounds, caught with ballyhoo at the Herradura Spot. They also caught ten Yellowfin Tuna weighing 20 to 100 pounds, using lures in the Herradura Area.
Anglers Andrew Marikos, Brittany Marikos, Darrin Kirk, and Tina Kirk of Laguna Vista, Texas, chartered the 42‑foot Cabo Flybridge, “Hot Rod,” and departed from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Led by Captain Erick Orozco and Mate Jose, the crew enjoyed a productive day on the water at the renowned 95 Spot. During the trip, the anglers released one Blue Marlin estimated to weigh between 200 and 250 pounds and landed one Wahoo weighing approximately 40 pounds. The excellent catch highlighted the area’s outstanding fishing conditions and contributed to a memorable offshore fishing experience for all participants.
Conditions were highly favorable on Monday, July 13, 2026, with clear skies and calm seas. Wave heights ranged from 3 to 4 feet, and water temperatures remained warm, around 82 to 86°F. Air temperatures were also consistently warm in the same area, accompanied by light, steady winds. Overall, the weather provided a pleasant environment for sport fishing.
Aboard the 31-foot Bertram, “TRACY ANN,” with Captain Julio Castro and Mate Tracy Ann Raul Leal, anglers Daisy Wong and Mike Taib of Sedona, Arizona, enjoyed a productive day at the La Brecha. They released one Striped Marlin estimated at 100 to 120 pounds on a caballito bait, and one Yellowfin Tuna weighing approximately 10 to 12 pounds on curry at the San Jaime. However, the highlight of the trip was the release of a 250- to 280-pound Blue Marlin taken at La Brecha on a curio. Overall, the outing was marked by excellent fishing conditions and an impressive mixed billfish catch.
David Pewitt and Leah Pewitt of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, shared in an offshore fishing excursion aboard the 35-foot Cabo Flybridge, “Bill Collector 4,” captained by JC Lopez and Mates Erick Jr. and Juan S. During the trip, the party landed and released one Striped Marlin estimated at 100 to 120 pounds approximately one mile outside Cerro using caballito bait. The anglers also caught six Yellowfin Tuna ranging from 20 to 50 pounds in the Herradura area, using caballito and Kite-fishing techniques. The outing proved highly productive, yielding the release of a Striped Marlin and the catch of multiple high-quality Yellowfin Tuna.
Tuesday, July 14, 2026: Weather and marine conditions were highly favorable. Skies were clear, and the seas were calm throughout the day. Wave heights ranged from 4 to 5 feet, and winds remained light at 7 mph. Water temperature was 82°F, and air temperatures were a pleasant 85-89°F. Overall, the day featured clear visibility and tranquil sea conditions.
Captain Jose Ramon Alucano and Mate Macelo enjoyed a successful fishing trip aboard the “REBECCA,” a 31-foot Bertram. Anglers Jennifer Hammack and Owen Hammack, visitors from Ridgefield, Washington, had an impressive day, catching one Dorado weighing 31 pounds on cocinero at the Margaritas and three Yellowfin Tuna weighing 25, 64, and 75 pounds, caught using Rapala lures outside the Golden.
“TIBURON,” a 31-foot Bertram captained by Captain Rosendo Gomez and Mate Raul, recorded a successful fishing outing for anglers aboard, Clifton Molatore and Riddick Molatore, from Wilsonville, Oregon, who caught one 60-pound Yellowfin Tuna. The fish was caught with a lure at San Jaime. The Yellowfin Tuna catch provided a rewarding offshore fishing experience.
Clear skies and calm seas provided excellent conditions for recreational boating and sport fishing on Wednesday, July 15, 2026. Light winds of about 5 mph kept water conditions comfortable, while wave heights of 4 to 5 feet remained manageable for most boats. Water temperatures ranging from 79 to 82°F were typical for summer, drawing warm-water gamefish into the area. Air temperatures reached 96 degrees, reflecting peak summer conditions common throughout the Baja Peninsula. Overall, stable weather, warm water, and light winds combined to create ideal conditions for anglers and boaters across the region.
Aboard the “El Cazador,” Captain Carmelo and Mate Luis reported an outstanding offshore trip for their clients, anglers Justin Dale Schuerg and Tabitha Marie Schuerg, from McGregor, Texas, with the release of two Striped Marlin estimated to weigh 80 to 90 pounds, caught near the Herradura Spot on cocinero. Their action continued with the landing of three Yellowfin Tuna weighing between 60 and 100 pounds, on trolled lures. The Texans enjoyed a memorable day on the water, taking advantage of favorable conditions to land an impressive mixed catch of billfish and tuna.
On the 31-foot Bertram, “Tiburón,” Captain Rosendo Gomez and Mate Raul enjoyed a productive day fishing with their clients at the San Jaime Bank. Anglers Aaron Fowler, Natalie Hanna, and Scott Hellman, visiting from Treasure Island, Florida, landed three Yellowfin Tuna weighing 15, 48, and 77 pounds, using Kite and bait techniques. They were rewarded with an impressive catch of Yellowfin Tuna, making for a memorable day on the water off Baja’s southern coast.
On Thursday, July 16, 2026, weather and marine conditions were favorable, with clear skies and calm seas throughout the day. Wave heights ranged from 4 to 5 feet, and winds were about 9 mph. Water temperatures were recorded at 79 to 82 degrees, providing warm ocean conditions. Air temperatures were also warm, ranging from 82 to 88 degrees, contributing to a pleasant environment overall. These conditions were excellent for a variety of outdoor and marine activities.
Aboard the 28-foot Uniflite “Andrea,” Captain Orlando and Mate Super Mario led a successful offshore fishing excursion about 24 miles to the 130 Spot. Austin Schubot and Donald Schubot of Cypress, Texas, caught and released a nice-sized 120-pound Striped Marlin, along with four Yellowfin Tuna weighing 15, 40, 60, and 77 pounds. The fish were caught using a combination of lures and caballito, with activity concentrated in the 24-mile area near the 130 Spot. The anglers enjoyed a productive day on the water, highlighted by impressive catches and excellent offshore fishing conditions.
Aboard the 35-foot Cabo Flybridge, “Bill Collector 2,” Captain Abel and Mate Ninja led an offshore fishing trip that resulted in the angler, Diego Acevedo, of Chula Vista, California, making outstanding catches of three Yellowfin Tuna weighing 15, 50, and 69 pounds. The fish were caught using a Kite with bait at the Herradura. Demonstrating favorable fishing conditions and effective angling methods. Diego Acevedo enjoyed an exciting day on the water and an outstanding offshore fishing experience.
As the week concluded, the Pisces Fleet celebrated another successful stretch of offshore fishing, highlighted by abundant Yellowfin Tuna, exciting billfish releases, and exceptional angler experiences. Skilled captains and crews, favorable ocean conditions, and productive fishing grounds delivered consistent action throughout the week. Visitors from across the United States and Mexico enjoyed memorable adventures on the waters off Cabo San Lucas, reinforcing the area’s reputation as one of the world’s premier sportfishing destinations.
