“Rebecca,” a 31-foot Bertram, run by Capt. José Ramón, and supported by Alucano and Marcelo on deck, reported an exceptional day at the 1150 Spot, where the anglers aboard, Caimin Long, David Dauti, John O’Conner, Matthew Zimmer, Michael Davidson, and Thomas Persinki, caught and released eleven Striped Marlin, estimated to weigh between 90 and 100 pounds, using a combination of jurelito and ballyhoo.

35‑foot Cabo Flybridge "Bill Collector 2,

Aboard the 35‑foot Cabo Flybridge “Bill Collector 2, crew members Captain Abel, Mates Ninja, and Daniel reported a productive day at the 1150 Spot. The anglers on board included Hunter Collins, Neal Collins, Samira Carnio, and Tyler Stinson. They caught and released six Striped Marlin weighing 90 to 100 pounds on cocinero, took three Dorado in the 20 to 25‑pound range on cocinero and lures, landed three Yellowfin Tuna weighing 3 to 4 pounds on palos, and added seven Skipjack from 3 to 5 pounds, also on palos. They left the boat feeling as though they had captured the brass ring and that their fishing venture would be told and retold for years to come.

Captain Bruce and Mate Chava, aboard “Karina,” reported steady action at the 1150 SpotAngler Eric Weborg, visiting from Crossroads, Texas, was also aboard for the outing, catching and releasing seven Striped Marlin weighing 80 to 110 pounds, all taken on cocinero. In addition, he released one Silky Shark, estimated at 80 pounds, also on cocinero.

On the 28‑foot Uniflite “Adriana, Captain Frank and Mate Brian reported their anglers, Shelbie and Theodore Kales, visiting from Helotes, Texas, caught and released two Striped Marlin estimated at 100 to 120 pounds on cocinero, along with one Dorado in the 20 to 25‑pound range that they caught on a lure. The fish were taken 14 miles off Cerro.

Aboard the 48‑foot Viking, “MY WAY,” Captain Arturo and Mate Josue guided their group to the 1150 Spot, where guest anglers—Adriana Novia, Chance Beasley, GP Bradley Saad, Greer Beasley, and Matthew Parratraveling from Houston, Texas, caught and released five Striped Marlin estimated at 100 to 120 pounds, on cocinero and ballyhoo. They appreciated the camaraderie and favorable fishing conditions throughout the day.

66‑foot Viking "FRIDAY BANK,"


Captain Saul, Mates Roberto and Alex, aboard the 66‑foot Viking “FRIDAY BANK,” completed a productive run to the 1150 Spot, where their anglers caught and released six Striped Marlin on a mix of cocinero and ballyhoo bait. They also took a 15 to 18‑pound Dorado that struck a ballyhoo in the same area. The fishing group—Andrew Akhtar, Eddie Ellefson, Harrison Cates, Jackson Pennington, Sean Browne, and Stephen Swann—visiting from Dallas, Texas, enjoyed the beautiful early‑June weather and steady fishing.

37-foot Viking, "BBII,"

Captain Hector and Mates Fernando and Lalo on the 37-foot Viking, “BBII,” reported having an excellent day at the 1150 Spot, where their anglers released nine Striped Marlin estimated at 100 to 120 pounds, using a combination of cocinero and ballyhoo. Daija Volker, Robert Velek, Robson Velek, and Thomas Volker also landed a 20 to 25-pound Dorado on a ballyhoo in the same area. They enjoyed steady action throughout the fishing trip, in favorable early-summer weather.

Aboard the 31‑foot Bertram, “RUTHLESS,” Captain Beto Lira and Mate Velez worked on the 1150 Spot with outstanding results. Visiting anglers Lloyd Tettleton, Pablo Noriega, Stephanie Tettleton, and Sydney Tettleton, from Katy, Texas, caught and released five Striped Marlin in the 90 to 100‑pound class on a mix of cocinero and ballyhoo. Mid‑morning, they added a standout 40 to 45‑pound Wahoo that crushed a Rapala they trolled along a clean temperature break in the same area. They experienced one of the greatest days of fishing and had tales to tell when they returned home.
